Mikroarkeologisk undersökning av i jordmånen bevarade textilfibrer, pälsar och fjädrar

Mikroskopi av jordprover tagna på arkeologiska lokaler gör det möjligt att få ny information om organiska material som en gång förmultnat på lokalen såsom textiler, pälsar och fjädrar. Fibrer och hår kan bevaras tusentals år i jordmånen, och de uppträder båda i gravar och på boplatser. De äldsta håren, stjälfibrerna och fragmenten från fågelfjädrar funna i Finland är från den mesolitiska stenåldern. Den här artikeln sammanställer de preliminära resultaten från undersökningar som gjorts under de senaste åren, och delger information om bevaringsmiljöer och provtagning av fibrer samt om laboratorieforskning.
